After a nearly seven year tour-hiatus, Ariana Grande returned to the stage on Saturday night with her new tour “The Eternal Sunshine”. Night one of the tour began in Oakland, California, at Oakland Area. Grande is expected to tour over 41 nights across major cities in North America and with one stop in England: London. The tour commemorates Grande’s album Eternal Sunshine which was released on March 8th, 2024.
Ariana Grande, known worldwide for her musical and acting talents, has built a renowned career in both the music industry and Hollywood. Recently, she starred in the acclaimed musicals, “Wicked” (2024) and “Wicked: For Good” (2025) alongside Cynthia Erivo, a renowned British actor, singer, and songwriter. Grande apprised the role of Glinda, the “good witch of the north.” Her performance earned many awards and nominations, including a Grammy Award for Best Pop Duo / Group Performance, a Satellite Award for Best Actress in a Supporting Role, and the Rising Star Award from the Palm Springs International Film Awards.
After her success in Hollywood, Grande decided to bring her focus back to the musical realm by announcing her “Eternal Sunshine Tour” on August 26, 2025, which sold out in a matter of minutes during the pre-sale and general-sale time slots in September of 2025. The massive demands of tickets prompted her to add more dates to the tour, which also sold out very quickly. Chris Willman at Variety reports that, “Demand for tickets has been at a premium. The lowest get-in-the-door price for any of the upcoming shows on the resale market is in the 500’s, and that is for a handful of obstructed-view tickets. Virtually any tickets available through secondary sellers for floor seats or in the loge/club sections of an arena are over $1,000. That could change if scalpers have to dump seats at the last minute, but prices have largely held firm as fans have realized this 11-city tour may really be the only chance to catch Grande for a long time if she plans to devote herself more fully to acting pursuits.”
Fans are concerned that this tour might be her last. Last year Grande went on the record and said, “I do know that I’m very excited to do this small tour, but I think it might not happen again for a long, long, long, long time. I’m going to give it my all and it’s going to be beautiful. I think that’s why I’m doing it because I’m like ‘One last hurrah!’” But with such expensive seats, securing tickets has become challenging for adoring fans and average middle-class Americans. Despite the astronomical ticket prices, the first night of the tour was considered to be a success. Willman writes, “Standout moments were plentiful, and it’s rare, at this level of superstar arena show, for every one of them to be strictly performance-based, regardless of all the calibrated bells and whistles.”
Throughout opening night of the “Eternal Sunshine Tour” in Oakland, Grande sported six custom, high fashioned outfits put together by her stylist, Law Roach. The first show ended after 105 minutes with a setlist of 23 songs from her discography. Although the roadshow is called “The Eternal Sunshine Tour” after her seventh studio album, Grande also performed songs from her previous albums. Some of those include, “7 Rings” from her fifth studio album Thank U, Next, “Dangerous Woman” from her third studio album Dangerous Woman, and “Just Like Magic” from Positions, highlighting the different eras of Grande’s long-standing career. The “Eternal Sunshine Tour” will end on September 1st, 2026 at the 02 Arena in London.
