The fashion industry is always moving forward, sometimes it feels impossible to stay on top while also staying in budget. To meet this demand for trend led clothes at a low cost, the fast fashion industry was born. However, recent studies have shown the negative impact that unsustainable fashion manufacturing is having on the environment. Younger people are becoming more and more aware of this impact and have started to make a switch towards second hand shopping. In my documentary, I visited “Beg, Steal and Borrow”, a new swap shop in Manchester, to learn more about the shifting trend towards sustainable fashion.
