Bournemouth v Manchester United match preview

By Camden Strong.

Manchester United visit Bournemouth in what could be a feisty clash as Bournemouth look to flip the script on a winless run, collecting only one win in their past five games. Whereas Manchester United march to the Vitality Stadium after a convincing 3-1 win against Villa at home as they look towards a Champions League finish this season.

Both sides met earlier in the season holding each other to a 4-4 draw, with an 84th minute equaliser by Junior Kroupi, who will likely fill in tonight for Justin Kluivert following his season ending knee injury back in early January. With Bournemouth coming off consecutive goalless draws, Andoni Iraola’s attack aims to regain their spark.

However, with Tyler Adams rumoured to be out following a knock in training, Bournemouth may call up Alex Scott who filled in during Tyler Adams absence verses Burnley. Marcus Tavernier and Evanilson may also start as Bournemouth look to convert chances.

Manchester United has had the fire reignited following comments from Paul Scholes about Michael Carrick after defeat to Newcastle, since which United turned over Villa in a convincing win and look to do the same with Bournemouth.

With Sesko hitting form and Cunha also scoring verses Villa one forward spot is available with both Diallo and Mbeumo available. Bruno Fernandes is another who is in excellent form in the league and could be on track to beating the assist record as he currently sits four behind Henry and De Bruyne.

This match holds immense value to United as achieving a Champions League spot is a major success based on last season’s 15th place finish under Rubin Amorim and a win at the Vitality will instil the confidence they can go on and achieve it. For Bournemouth it’s an attempt to scale the table and reach European qualification.
