Adult Cinema to go on tour for first time in 18 years

The rock multi-instrumentalist confirms he is going on tour for the first time in 18 years, and delves into the process behind his recent album release, 365

Michael Weston (Adult Cinema) has openly stated in an interview his intentions to tour early in 2027. This will be the first time in 18 years that he has toured under the Adult Cinema name.

His music is a great blend of Pink Floyd influenced classic rock and his own polished sound. Originally from North London, he now records most of his music from his home studio in Southend-on-Sea. He made his debut in 2007 with This Is Your Life, an album filled with Floyd influence and some brilliant musicianship from Mike.

He has said he is “really looking forward to it” ahead of the tour, but he also states before that he has “never really been a gig person, it’s always been about recording and creating stuff”. That explains the 18 year gap.

Mike had a new album out last year, 365, which he shared the process behind. “It is almost entirely instrumental, and it is based on the four seasons”, an interesting concept. “It’s what I think they would sound like, ‘Spring’ is fresh and sparkly, ‘Summer’ is warm and cool, then ‘Autumn’ is when it starts to get darker, and ‘Winter’ is very dark and bleak”.

He had a funny comment to make about the ‘Autumn‘ track: “The rest of the album is taken from different sounds around the world, I went to Florida to get the frog sounds, but it’s back to Britain for the Autumn because I think as British people we’re just so used to that dark and bleak feeling at that time of year.” He isn’t wrong.

His tour will start in early 2027, with Manchester one of the cities mentioned, with more to be listed. He will be more than happy to deliver his Pink Floyd-influenced tunes to a loyal fanbase.
