There was an unusual visitor in Chester City Centre today, when a 6m x 2.5m bee, named the ‘Anti-Violence Bee’, turned up outside the Town Hall. The monument, which was created by British Ironworks, is made out of thousands of weapons collected off the streets of Greater Manchester.
Inspired by the famous Manchester worker bee, the sculpture represents unity amongst communities and was designed to highlight the consequences of using weapons and violent crime.
