When looking at the title for Maisie Peters’ third studio album Florescence, you may think I am misspelling it. The term ‘Fluorescence’ is very much different.. When titling an album, you want the name to encapsulate the sound and theme and I think Maisie Peters has it down to a T.
Florescence means “The act or state of flowering,” and in this album, lyrically Peters has explored a new realm of lyrics as moving on from relationship belters that were housed on her previous album The Good Witch, Maisie Peters explores the terms of experiencing a blooming kind of love.
Initially, Florescence was supposed to bloom onto our shelves on 15th May 2026 but instead was pushed back a week for reasons unknown. When you look at the title, you cant help but imagine a spring or summer release where the weather is just right and the breeze is flowing through your curtains waiting for a fresh start.

Peters began to sow the seeds for the rollout early October 2025, which was for the double A-sides ‘You You You’ and ‘Audrey Hepburn.’ The first I mentioned is a song I would’ve kept for the album and not released as the leading single and the vocals can seem quite annoying. ‘Audrey Hepburn’s lyrics set the theme for the album of acceptance.
Quite a lot of the album was released as singles which was probably her team hoping for chart success after her second album The Good Witch reached Number 1 on the charts a week after her Glastonbury performance in 2023. Out of the fifteen songs on her third album, five songs were singles and ‘My Regards’ was released again as an acoustic track.
I am really excited to see how Maisie Peters projects this album at a live show, as early on this year Peters played a few small intimate shows in independent book shops. I would love to see how that translates to her headline show at the O2 Arena in London.
