I’m not great at predictions. I wouldn’t even bet on the sun shining during a heatwave. But in this I’m confident: genre-defying six-piece Man/Woman/Chainsaw are going to be big.
With the backing of NME, Radio 6 Music and Dork, the band, made up of Billy Ward, Emmie-Mae Avery, Vera Leppänen, Billy Doyle, Clio Harwood and Lola Cherry, are proving they deserve a place on your playlist.
Yesterday (28th May), the band released ‘Goddamn, Lizard Man!‘ the third single from their upcoming debut album Cannonball, due to be released 7th August. It’s a track that sits boldly amongst an already eclectic discography. If what we’ve heard is anything to go by, the new album is sure to be a debut that will strike the right chord.
I spoke to Clio Harwood (vocals/violin) and Emmie Mae Avery (vocals/synth) about how the band work, what we can expect from the album and their songwriting process.
‘Goddamn, Lizard Man!’ review by music journalists Leah Simons, Freya Hoare and Izzy Hurcum.
