Liverpool v Tottenham preview

By Harry Dwyer.

Relegation-threatened Tottenham Hotspur will be looking for their first league win of 2026 when they take on Liverpool on Sunday at Anfield.

New manager Igor Tudor is already facing major doubts over his position, after just four games at the helm. He was criticised for substituting goalkeeper Antonin Kinsky after just 18 minutes in their 5-2 loss against Atletico Madrid on Tuesday, having conceded three goals.

Liverpool will also be looking to return to winning ways after their midweek 1-0 defeat in the UEFA Champions League away to Galatasaray in what was a lacklustre performance for Arne Slot’s men.

Tottenham could be without as many as 10 players through injury, whilst Micky van de Ven is currently suspended after his red card against Crystal Palace. Dejan Kuluveski, Ben Davies, James Maddison, Wilson Odobert, Rodrigo Bentancur and Mohammed Kudus are expected tobe on the sidelines for the foreseeable future.

Liverpool will be hoping to welcome back goalkeeper Alisson Becker to the squad after he was out of the team that travelled to Turkey with illness; however Federico Chiesa is still out. Conor Bradley and Giovanni Leoni are out for the rest of the season.

Liverpool possible starting lineup: Mamardashvili, Frimpong, Konate, Van Dijk, Robertson, Gravenberch, Szoboszlai, Wirtz, Salah, Ekitike, Gakpo.

Tottenham possible starting lineup: Vicario, Dragusin, Danso, Gray, Souza, Sarr, Palhinha, Porro, Kolo Muani, Simons, Solanke.
